Re: Promotional video of Hong Kong-Pinoy Theater Festival 2009

This is to inform you that the Centre for Community Cultural Development (CCCD) is making a sincere apology to the Anino Shadowplay Collective, Owly Shadow Puppets and Orange Moon Toys, for the fact that CCCD has used the images of shadow puppets of the above mentioned artists in a promotional video for the Hong Kong-Pinoy Theater Festival 2009, which was to promote harmony and mutual understanding between the Filipino migrants and local Chinese people in Hong Kong through theatre arts.  The video was done for inviting the target audience to join the shadow puppet workshop, which acted as a platform for the participants of different nationalities to interact with each other through cultural activities.  However, the Anino Shadowplay Collective, Owly Shadow Puppets and Orange Moon Toys and their fellow artists, who own the images in the video, were not well informed, credited or acknowledged.

We understand that the above mentioned artists must have worked hard in producing the images and would be disappointed when the images of their work were excerpted, since people may not be able to trace back to the original artists even they find the videos of shadow puppetry interesting.  We truly respect the originality of the images and we always are thankful to each of the creators.  However this time we know the seeking of permission and proper way of acknowledgement were missing.

Now we are the most willing to have removed the videos and images which caused the inconvenience.  And In future, we promise to carefully check on each of the sources that we can find on the internet or by other means, and we will try our best to find out the creators and seek the consent of them before any kind of use.  We will acknowledge each and everyone who provides materials in assisting us to promote community cultural development.

Please forgive us for not being sensitive in using the images and videos.  We hope in the near future there would be opportunities for us to meet each other and collaborate in promoting community cultural development work.
